Globacom Nigeria announced a new phone chat service for their exclusive social networking service, Glo. Named Frenszo Voice Chat, the service will connect Globacom’s subscribers with similar interests across Nigeria, writes local publication Daily Trust.
Samson Isa, Globacom’s Head of Value Added Services, explained Frenszo’s launch as a viable way of communicating further, after the success of its SMS version with an average of 200.000 hits per day.
Frenszo Voice Chat allows secure conversation in a spam-free environment and also by exchanging SMS. To activate the service, a subscriber dials 547, follows the voice prompts and listens to profiles of others uses registered on the system. First time users need to register their profile by recording short information about themselves, afterwards being able to edit his profile, manage his account, block/unblock friend’s chat ID and select chat rooms.
Globacom Nigeria offers mobile, voice, telecom and broadband solutions to millions of subscribers in Nigeria and the Republic of Benin. The company has recently acquired operating licenses in Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast).
