The world’s leading search engine provider, Google, has launched its “Display Ad Builder” application in South Africa, designed to be an easy-to-use tool that lets advertisers create customised display ads with their own text, images, and logo.
The company says the tool can create ads to fit all possible placements across the Google Content Network, including video and game placements.
The tool is designed to enable online advertisers to create affordable, professional-looking display ads through their AdWords account.
Says Mohammad Gawdat, MD for emerging markets at Google: “In the past, display advertising has tended to be the preserve of bigger advertisers who could afford the costs of display creation and distribution. Now, we are able to bring ease-of-use, affordability and reach to display advertising through our Display Ad Builder. From today, a South African advertiser will be able to move beyond text ad campaigns without the need to hire a creative designer and media planning team. By providing a range of simple tools we want to encourage advertisers to venture online and we want to encourage those advertisers who already run text ads to move into display.”
The company said that clients would be able to create attractive display ads in a matter of minutes, without having access to expensive graphic software or design expertise.
