Preparations have begun for the World Telecommunication Policy Forum (WTPF), scheduled to take place in Lisbon Portugal from April 22-24 this year.
African countries will be represented at the conference, which is expecting delegations from 190 member countries.
“The Forum will welcome an expected 1,000 high-level delegates from International Telecommunications Union’s 191 Member States and 550+ Sector Members, as well as representatives from UN agencies, Internet governance entities, and NGOs. WTPF is also open to the media and the general public,” said the organizers.
A special Strategic Dialogue on Information and Communication Technologies, to be held on 21 April just prior to the opening of the Forum, has been scheduled to address various issues in the telecoms industry brought on by the current global economic crisis.
