FIFA has issued a call to South Africa soccer fans to secure their seats to the Confederation Cup, held in the country later this year. Tickets are for sale online on the fifa.com website.
The statement comes ahead of the overwhelming global response to the first round of ticket sales for the FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa. Delia Fischer, FIFA spokesperson, said: “South African football fans are encouraged to buy their tickets online via the official website FIFA.com,”
According to Fischer all preparations are in place to make the Confederation Cup event a success. She says: The OC’s Technical Team, in charge of monitoring the stadium construction, reported that good progress was being made at all four FIFA Confederations Cup stadiums, with the final aesthetic touches being applied to allow for the start of event specific installations by the beginning of April. This last preparation phase includes the set-up of temporary event-related facilities such as the stadium media centres, media tribunes, hospitality areas, ticketing and accreditation centres to meet FIFA competition standards and requirements.”
FIFA has also made provision for groups sales and block bookings of tickets for the Confederation Cup, to accommodate South Africa’s football and business communities.
