Social Networking site for persons with disabilities

A new site, FriendsLikeMe.org has been created to provide disabled persons with an opportunity to meet others in similar circumstances and share experiences, support and friendship.

In addition, FriendsLikeMe.org is set to provide helpful information from a variety of sources to benefit its members. Articles, public service announcements, and links to other informational sites will be posted. Members will also be encouraged to provide submissions for publication to the site.

The goal of FriendsLikeMe.org is to further the ability of disabled individuals to better their lives through healthy social interaction. The site has been designed in an easy to use format for this purpose.

For people with disabilities the internet has provided the opportunity to socialize and network. Many people who have previously suffered from isolation now have the ability to reach resources to receive beneficial information and support.
