Global Mobile Awards on its way after GSMA announces nominees for EMEA

PREPARATIONS for this year’s Global Mobile Awards have gathered momentum with the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSMA) announcing the nominees for the EMEA leg of the annual Mobile Innovation Global Award Competition.

More than 450 companies from around the world have entered the race for the awards at the 14th edition of the event, which is scheduled for Barcelona, Spain, from 16 to 19 February.

The awards ceremony is one of the highlights of the GSMA Mobile World Congress, the world’s leading event for the mobile communications industry.

In the Global Mobile Awards, the GSMA’s judging panels reviewed more than 450 submissions to select 80 finalists across 16 categories.

Categories range from ‘Best Mobile Handset’ to a host of mobile entertainment awards for games, music and video, advertising and social networking services.

The GSMA represents the interests of the worldwide mobile communications industry. Spreading across 219 countries, the company unites more than 750 of the world’s mobile operators, as well as 200 firms in the broader mobile industry, including handset makers, software companies, equipment providers, internet companies, media and entertainment organisations.–ITNewsAfrica.
