NIGERIA has entered into a telecommunication partnership with a United Kingdom energy company, which it hopes will boost the communication network in Africa’s most populous country.

Three companies – Consumer General Eletric for Lagos, Private Networks Nigeria (PNN), Novell Engineering Limited and RB Lotus Limited – have been chosen as official product distributors for the UK-based Low Energy Designs Limited.

The Nigeria companies will be distributing what is called CobraComms DC power solution range of products which should be able to address the challenges and huge costs the telecommunication service providers have been experiencing for years.

Low Energy Designs Limited is commonly known in the United Kingdom for providing “Fit and Forget” intelligent lighting and power solutions using the highly advanced energy efficient products in the market.

Company’s commercial director of low energy designs, Alan Parker, said energy would use both the experience and expertise to ensure innovative solutions which would help reduce energy consumption in the West African nation.

Already the Low Energy Designs DC Generator hybrid solutions are being used in other parts of the world such as Solomon’s Island, Central America and in some parts of African.

The low energy solution has been a revelation in these areas, especially when it comes to the telecommunication industry where the system offers the end user with a robust, low maintenance and low running cost solution that can be controlled and monitored in real time remotely from anywhere in the world using a PC.
