Nigeria ready for Commonwealth Telecommunications Summit

president_of_Nigeria.jpgThe 2008 version of Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisations (CTO) Iinformation Communication Technology (ICT) summit will begin in Nigeria on Monday next week.

The Nigerian President Umaru Yar‘Adua will open this summit,tagged “Abuja CTO 2008”.

This gathering will see officials from the 58 Commonwealth countries converge in Abuja to shape the development of ICT in Africa.

According to the Nigerian Tribune, Mr. John Odey, the Minister of Information and Communication, who is the chief host of the event being organised by CTO, in collaboration with his ministry and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), on Tuesday said the event would put Nigeria on global spot.
