New Panda Managed Office Protection offers cost reduction and greater profitability to Africa’s channel

Panda Security, a global leader in IT security, has presented Panda Managed Office Protection to the Channel. This Web-based subscription service for professionals (SOHO), SMBs and companies with branch offices will help drive Channel sales, as it is a complete security service – and not just an antivirus.

“This service includes proactive anti-malware protection, managed personal firewall as well as in-depth malware audits,” says Jeremy Matthews, head of Panda Security’s sub-Saharan operations. “It also provides a new Web console that allows clients’ networks to be monitored and administered remotely, simply and securely from a Web browser, saving the time and hassle associated with on-site visits. The service can also be customised to be delivered under the partner’s own logo and branding.”

New features and improvements in version 5.02 include:

•Custom branding: Security providers now have the option to customize this service at all levels with their own logo, headers, etc.


•Improved global client management: The main screen of the management console summarizes key protection and license status information about all clients. There are also a series of improvements to the usability of the interface and the online help.

•Greater added-value in partners’ management services: The new Panda Managed Office Protection allows partners to schedule the sending of reports – with the partner’s logo- to clients , thereby demonstrating the efficacy of the protection. These include a new Executive Report with information and graphs displaying detection activity and the protection status over the last 24 hours.

•Reduced productivity losses for clients. This new version lets the Channel offer clients the highest levels of protection with a minimal use of resources. This is made possible thanks to an optimized system of P2P updates across local networks to minimize bandwidth consumption.

Panda Managed Office Protection offers partners a simple Web console for installing and managing protection of clients’ local networks securely and remotely from any computer with an Internet connection. This means the Channel can offer SMBs – or large organizations with branch offices – fully outsourced security, allowing them to concentrate on their core business with no need for investment in additional infrastructure.

The management console allows client organisations to be structured in as many layers as required, in accordance with the resellers or partners involved in the sales process and other criteria. It also enables delegation of management tasks to other users with administration or monitoring privileges over the selected groups of clients.

With Panda Security’s product, the Channel will offer clients much more than a security product, it will be providing a complete, value-added security management service, fully aligned with the concept of Security as a Service (SaaS). Centralized management of all clients from a single console offers greater simplicity and efficiency to those companies providing security to third-parties.
