Webconnect Europe AB, a Swedish company within 2G and 3G performance engineering of wireless communications networks, today announced the release of the new post-processing platform RAT – Radio Analyze Tool. RAT offering cellular network operators a very cost effective solution, enables an extremely fast centralized data management solution for network improvements’ of coverage and quality.
RAT enables cellular network operators and service providers to perform propagation testing and analysis using post-processing of drivetest-data. The capability of RAT allows network engineers to better design, plan, optimize and budget their networks. RAT is extremely fast in processing of large amounts of data and really easy-to-use for both 2G and 3G applications.
“Our new post-processing tool allows cellular network operators within minutes to verify the coverage and propagation of their networks and easily determine where problems are relating to customer experience and network efficiency.” Said Webconnects senior partner Bo Wisenfelt. RAT offers a centralized automation and data management solution giving an automated post processing and powerful reporting tool that allow the RF-engineers to act on gathered network performance data more efficiently. RAT currently supports WCDMA, HSDPA HSUPA and GSM systems with data both UE device and scanner data. In a near future RAT will also cover CDMA2000, LTE, WIMAX and Tetra.

Designed by network professionals for network professionals RAT creates a major effectiveness in the day to day work within mobile network engineering. “RAT really highlights potential network problems and presenting prioritized sites, presented with GIS support and tables directly in maps. This is way of analyzing the drive-test data is a massive improvement over existing technology, enabling a broader set of radio network optimization engineers to increase their productivity enormously.” Said Peter Dahlberg Webconnects senior network optimization specialist. “Our reference installations show that cellular operators can easily and accurately screen their network coverage, quality and performance for both voice and data.” added Peter.

Key benefits and features

RAT scales data access efficiency and business logic with its multi-server based design. A key-function of RAT is to efficiently support complex queries in a dynamic large-scale network environment and dynamically selecting and displaying large numbers of performance data. This scalable design allows optimal speed and network usage of the application.

Automatic Processing

Releases engineer’s time to focus on additional tasks and delivers actionable information available sooner. The automatic processing engine provides a fast, efficient and effective method for collecting, processing, analyzing and employing key network performance indicators, wherein the indicators involve measured data in cooperation with associated site-data

Central Shared Database and Archive

RAT enables team members’ work on the same project. The central file server host both drive-test data and pre-processed data, for sharing among the team members. All data is stored with a set of attribute, geo coding, user, region, description and date enables powerful and quick search of stored data and reduces unnecessary re-drives.

Client – Server deployment

RAT’s unique strengths are its application speed and integration of the functionality of the database. Developed for both a stand alone client and client/server deployment, helps you use resources optimally, and efficient usage of your application across the enterprise.
