A Pretoria High Court ruling that allows any company holding a network service license to build their own networks, rather than being forced to buy backbones from government-run Telkom is being challenged by South Africa’s Minister of Communications Ivy Matsepe-Casabburi.
This however comes as regulatory body ICASA, has already begun issuing new licenses that allow operators to build their own networks in line with the court’s ruling.
