AMD expands presence in Egypt

AMD2.jpgAMD today announced that MAK Holding for Industry, has joined its distribution network in Egypt. The agreement underscores AMD’s regional strategy to further expand its presence in Egypt.

Commenting on the appointment, Mahmoud El Sayed, Executive Manager and Board Member at EMAK, the distribution arm of MAK Holding, said: “As one of AMD’s distribution partners, our role will involve working closely with the team to help strengthen the product distribution network and expand reach among the channel community.

Through this relationship we are committed to bringing in the best of global computing technologies to customers in Egypt.”

Abdallah Saqqa, regional distribution and sales manager for AMD, Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, AMD said, “Egypt is a key market for AMD and we are constantly working on extending our involvement in the region.” “Distributors with in-depth market knowledge are vital to our business in MEA and we believe that their role is not limited to promotion and distribution alone, but that they will bring on board new plans and strategies needed at each stage of development.”

“EMAK is one of the longest standing AMD resellers in Egypt and have been selling AMD products for the last eight years. They are our partners in success,” added Ossama Eldeeb, Sales and Distribution Manager, AMD Egypt.

In addition to EMAK, AMD recently strengthened its distribution network with the appointment of Gamma and Quest, two local hardware distributors based in Egypt.
