Sahara Computers has announced its commitment to a joint venture with Cyret Technologies Inc. USA (Cyret), a global consulting and solutions company specializing in value-added service delivery around JD Edwards and Oracle based implementation solutions, to establish Cyret Technologies SA.
The new venture, which signals Cyret’s intention to establish operations within South Africa, will be based in Gauteng’s ICT hub in Midrand, Johannesburg SA.
Cyret Technologies SA, via specialist technical expertise and market experience of Sahara Computers, represents a focused solution and implementation partner on enterprise resource planning infrastructure, incorporating the JDE Oracle platform, to the local market.
It will support a national distribution network comprising eleven key points of presence.
In terms of this agreement the joint shareholding company will leverage off the local market expertise, infrastructure and presence of the Sahara Group, incorporating its associated companies.
Cyret will also deliver the full scale implementation of the latest version of the Oracle JDE product, Enterprise One 8.12, to the local and surrounding markets.
Management of the combined company will include members from both organizations. Rajan Deshpande will head the new venture as CEO.
“I am very excited about this association. “This strategic venture considerably expands our resources and significantly increases our bandwidth, thus improving our ability to grow the company’s client base into a new territory of Africa,” says Deshpande.
“Our intention will be to serve as a premier services and solutions partner on this platform for the JDE customer base. We also intend using the established infrastructure in-house for the benefit our company,” says Atul Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director at Sahara.
The synergy that exists between Sahara Computers and Cyret Technologies USA is based extensively on a number of similarities, including global presence, brand development, investment in training and skills development, quality technology distribution via a proven methodology and established network.
Cyret, was responsible for the first and ‘express’ Upgrade from One World Xe to of the latest version of the Oracle JDE product, Enterprise One 8.12 for SES Technologies (Pvt) Ltd., a Sahara Computer associate company based in India.

Sahara Computers has also reiterated its intention to transfer the value of this association and solution rollout to its growing reseller base. Sahara’s key role is to provide the level of expertise that has helped it establish itself as a premier supplier of technology solutions in each of its target markets.
