PS3 ads banned in South Africa

The African Standard Authority has banned a few of the new PlayStation 3 advertisements, which were recently released in South Africa.

The posters all had one same line: “Stocks are limited. Things could get ugly.” The ASA explained why the advertisements were banned. Apparently they referred to the recent launches of the PlayStation 3 in Europe and North America, which led to several muggings.

The PlayStation 3 fans in South Africa claim that the bannings weren’t necessary because of the low demand of the system in their region.
