According to a report via aljazeera.com, Britain has voted to leave the European Union. The official results were announced on 24 June 2016 with the leave campaign receiving 52 percent in the historic referendum.
According to the report, during the vote, the UK’s currency, Sterling, was in freefall. It dropped to its lowest level since 1985, dipping to $1.34 on Friday, falling 10 percent from the 2016 high of $1.50 hit just hours earlier.
The report further reveals that the pound had initially soared as polls closed and two opinion surveys put Remain ahead and two leading supporters of the Leave campaign said it appeared the pro-EU side had won. According to the report, once Article 50 is invoked, it will take Britain up to two years to actually leave the EU.
Social media has reacted with many individuals either being for or against the decision.
No matter the outcome, #Brexit polls demonstrate how quickly half of any population can be convinced to vote against itself. Quite a lesson.

Oh, man. Kept out of it, as it’s not my country. But the #Brexit outcome makes me sad. Another major sign the world is turning backwards.

Astrology wise you can see the political upheavals coming throughout the world, but I’m still shocked. #Brexit – big mistake.
