Vodacom Tanzania’s radical reduction of off-net costs

The Tanzania Daily News reports that Vodacom Tanzania has cut the cost of off-net calling rates by 50%.

The publication writes that the telecoms company issued a statement saying that it has introduced the Bonga Tariff and this will apply to all networks, accessible to prepaid and Vodajaza clients.

Off-net calls will cost the user 1.5/- per second instead of the current rate of 3/- per second.

Rene Meza, Vodacom Tanzania MD, is quoted as saying, “”There is no cost for subscribing into this new offer, but should one decide to opt out, they shall be charged 100/-.”

The company has reiterated its commitment to the delivery of what Mr Meza described as “the best services and products”.
