Kinetic Events will bring Africa’s Cloud and Virtualisation Summit to the Hilton Hotel, Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa on 5 – 6 October 2011.

Industry indicators show an increase in IT spending with Cloud Computing and Virtualisation listed as top priorities for IT heads.
The summit has been designed for IT leaders to learn more about the inner workings of cloud and virtualisation and how it can add value to the business.
According to Wikipedia, Cloud computing is the delivery of computing as a service rather than a product, whereby shared resources, software and information are provided to computers and other devices as a utility over a network.
“Cloud Computing is currently a topical issue for IT professionals,” says Andrew Crone, Head of IT for Investec Capital Markets.
“The workshops allowed one not only to collaborate with peers in the field but also to benchmark oneself against the groups and industries in the workshops, which is just as important to be sure one is not lagging behind the technology curve,” says Crone.
“The potential of cloud computing to change the IT and operational environment in South Africa is just surfacing and is now a key issue to be looked at,” says Fritz Milosevic, Investment Banker Telecommunications Head at Nedbank Capital.
According to the press statement, the Cloud and Virtualisation Summit will host speakers and delegates across the ICT sector. The speakers will focus on effective innovation, cost reduction and developing effective cloud strategies in Africa.
