Egypt’s Orascom Telecom has hired leading business application software provider Infor to help bolster the telecom operator’s management from its head office in Cairo.
The new deal will see Infor provide financial planning, budgeting, reporting and consolidation for Orascom’s 115 subsidiaries as well as providing “an increase in accuracy, visibility, profitability and efficiency,” the company said in a press release on Wednesday.
According to the statement announcing the deal, Infor plans to centralize and automate Orascom’s data across the globe as well as increase the company’s ability to deploy products worldwide through Infor’s FMS SunSystems program.
According to Infor, the new agreement is a “comprehensive solution that includes strategic management tools, planning and budgeting, forecasting, financial consolidation and reporting and analysis” that will “enable Orascom to use a variety of planning methodologies and scenarios.”
Orascom hopes that through the new partnership it can increase the company’s ability to keep tabs on its global affiliates.
“The centralized data system provided by Infor is a welcome relief to Orascom as we can now consolidate the financials as well as non-financial data of all our subsidiaries and use readily available tools for analytics and reporting,” SVP Chief Financial Officer of Orascom Mahmoud Zuaiter said in the same press release.
