Nigeria-UK Telecom summit 2010 due in London

This year’s Nigeria-United Kingdom Telecom summit will take place in the city of London on 13-14 May 2010, announced the organizers.

The event is being organized by Lancaster Conferences and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), in partnership with the United Kingdom Trade and Investment (UKTI).


In a statement, the organisers noted that investors’ perceptions about Nigeria’s telecommunications industry has changed dramatically in the past years. The also pointed out that Nigeria’s ICT sector is currently the largest in Africa, making up over 62% of the African market.

The event will allow foreign investors in the telecoms industry to learn, network and expand their businesses, ultimately attracting them to invest on the African continent.

Among the industry leaders from Nigeria and UK who will attend the event are representatives from NCC, Ministry of Information and Communication, Etisalat, MTN, Helios Tower, Synchronica, Multilinks, Zain, Mobitel and Starcomms.

The summit will be held on 13-14 May 2010, at Savoy Place, in London and will follow with a Gala event on the final evening.
