Thingstream appoints Philipp Bolliger as new CEO.

Thingstream today announced the appointment of Philipp Bolliger as chief executive officer. Building on the impressive growth the company has generated since its inception last year, Bolliger is tasked with growing the business internationally and extending applications of the platform to even more industries.

A seasoned professional, Bolliger was previously Global Director for Smart Systems at Husqvarna Group. He founded smart garden start-up Koubachi in 2009, pioneering the field of smart objects for plants before the company was acquired by Husqvarna Group in 2015. Bolliger has since built up and led the newly created smart products category at GARDENA, a division of Husqvarna Group, focusing on innovation and applying his extensive experience of the Internet of Things (IoT) and home automation technology. Bolliger holds a MSc in computer science and a PhD in Ubiquitous Computing from ETH Zurich.

As an experienced CEO with a demonstrable history of working in the IoT industry, Bolliger is well-placed to spearhead Thingstream’s ambitious plans for the rest of 2018 and beyond.

Bolliger commented: “Thingstream has impressively demonstrated over the last year or so that they have a unique, global IoT solution that enables the majority of businesses to develop into this space for the first time. That’s something that really excites me. IoT is an area I’m both experienced in and passionate about, so this really is a perfect role. I’m honoured to have the opportunity to lead Thingstream through its next chapter of growth and I can’t wait to work closely with the outstanding team we have built.”

Bolliger will be joining the Thingstream team at this year’s IoT Solutions World Congress in Barcelona, October 16-18. Located at stand C320, they will be joined by several global partners and demonstrating a number of live IoT integrations.
