Archos sets sights on Nigeria and Senegal

French tablet and smartphone manufacturer Archos recently signed a distribution agreement with Uni Group in Egypt. The smartphone and tablet manufacturer now plans to sign similar agreements in Nigeria and Senegal. The company also revealed that it is expecting to target the Maghreb countries as well.

CEO, Loic Poirier, told Agence Ecofin that he learned a lot about the African market by working with residents in Egypt. “The important thing is to find a partner that can deliver mobiles in different points of sale and to have a solid network,” he said. Poirier forecast that between 50 and 70 million smartphones would be sold in Africa next year, compared to 25 million in 2014 and 15 million in 2013.


Archos develops a variety of devices including: Tablets, smartphones, smart-watches as well as connected objects and devices.
