“Sony Mobile will not just be providing customers of the latest Xperia Z2 smartphone with incredible access to the new album through this collaboration, they will also benefit from an exceptional audio experience. Sony audio engineers consulted with visionary Epic Records Chairman and CEO L.A. Reid to re-create the center seat experience of his recording studio on the Xperia Z2 so that users can hear the music just as its creators intended,” the company said in a statement.

According to Sony, the sound was optimised using the studio’s console and main monitors as a reference point for the audio tuning on the Xperia Z2 and the optional MDR-NC31EM Noise Cancelling headset.

“Xperia Z2 users can access these audio settings with just one touch, simply by selecting the ClearAudio+ mode. The tuning settings have also been burnt to the digital signal processor on the optional Bluetooth headset SBH-80. The result? A listening experience as it was intended to be heard,” Sony said.
