No alternate ending in sight for Mass Effect 3

While fans of Electronic Arts’ Mass Effect 3 were up in arms about the way the game ended, the female lead character’s voice artists confirmed that she hasn’t been contacted regarding more voice-over work.

Developer BioWare hinted at fans that they are investigating the possibility to give players a different ending, but voice actress Jennifer Hale hasn’t been informed about an alternate ending to the trilogy.

“I prefer to live in denial about it because it makes me too sad,” Hale told Edge, referring to the possibility that her work on the hugely-successful franchise might be over.

Hale however has mixed feelings about recording new voice parts for her female Commander Shepard’s possibly different ending.

“I have mixed feelings about [the prospect of a new ending]. I really respect the team and what they did and how hard they worked. And endings are hard! They’re cutting new ground; the players are so involved in this game that to come up with an ending to something everyone’s got their hand in is a huge challenge,” she said.

BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka also added that fans can expect more content in April. “ (We are) hard at work on a number of game content initiatives that will help answer the questions, providing more clarity for those seeking further closure to their journey. You’ll hear more on this in April,” he wrote in an open letter to disgruntled gamers.
