Kinetic Events, the producers and hosts of the IT Leaders Africa Summit, has confirmed Telkom/Cybernest as the lead sponsor of the event. The IT Leaders Africa Summit brings together the forerunners in the IT industry in Africa. Local and international companies will network and discuss business with Africa’s IT leaders.
The summit has been designed for knowledge sharing, networking and deal making within the African IT industry. The current economic situation throughout the world and Africa will play a major role at the conference and will aid in determining workshop and discussion topics.
“Telkom Business and Cybernest are delighted to be a sponsor of this prestigious summit, and we are looking forward to engaging with IT leaders to explore solutions and possibilities that can address the many challenges currently faced in the rapidly changing IT landscape.” A Telkom official said.
Telkom’s track record in IT services goes back 15 years. Ever since becoming a company, Telkom has always handled its own IT, from customer billing through to e-mail and the call centre operations.
Seven years ago, Telkom started strengthening its Data Hosting and Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities to comply with the Data Retention, Data Security and DT requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley, arguably one of the most stringent regulations to comply with in the world.
Telkom established Cybernest which has six fully fledged data centres in South Africa and over 600 specialised data centre staff. These data centres total 9700 square metres and we are already managing in excess of R2.5 billion worth of IT assets. More than 4 000+ servers, 2 Petabytes of SAN storage, 1 460+ databases and 273 Terabytes of unique daily data backups, this is the scale of service that Cybernest’s data centre operations is currently supporting. There are compelling reasons why Cybernest’s six data centres are located where they are: high availability, seamless failover and geographical separation, all critical components of a sound business continuity strategy.”
The IT Leaders Africa Summit will be taking place on the 10th and 11th March 2011 at the Hilton Hotel in Sandton and will host Africa’s greatest IT minds. Two hundred CIOs, CEOs and CFOs will convene to participate in interactive and educational workshops hosted by fellow CIOs and leading IT solution providers from around the globe.
The IT Leaders Africa Summit is produced and hosted by Kinetic Events. Kinetic Events is an international business-to-business conferencing company based in Cape Town, South Africa, established as a key strategic information provider to the IT and telecoms sector.
