ASUS has announced the Zenbook DUO (2026) UX8407, an evolved take on its pioneering dual-screen laptop that delivers more power, greater portability, and a refined user experience aimed squarely at professionals and creators. Building on the success of its predecessor, the new Zenbook DUO blends cutting-edge performance with a compact, travel-ready design.

At the heart of the device is a full Ceraluminumâ„¢ chassis, engineered to balance durability and lightness while withstanding the rigours of mobile work. Despite housing two displays and a large battery system, the chassis is 5% smaller than the previous generation, making it easier to carry without sacrificing capability. A redesigned hideaway hinge and integrated kickstand ensure stability across multiple usage modes, from traditional laptop to dual-screen workstation.

Powering the Zenbook DUO is up to an Intel® Core™ Ultra X9 Series 3 processor, delivering a major leap in compute, graphics, and AI performance. With up to 180 TOPS of combined AI capability and an integrated Intel® NPU providing up to 50 TOPS, the laptop is built for next-generation AI workloads. This performance is backed by a 99Wh dual-battery system, enabling extended runtime for demanding tasks. Enhanced thermal engineering — including CNC-cut vents with triple the surface area and larger 97-blade fans — allows the system to sustain a 45W TDP while remaining quiet and cool.

The defining feature of the Zenbook DUO remains its dual 14-inch 3K ASUS Lumina Pro OLED displays. Each screen delivers vivid, lifelike visuals with Dolby Vision® certification, up to 1,000 nits peak HDR brightness, and a smooth 48–144Hz variable refresh rate. ASUS has reduced the gap between the screens by 70%, creating a near-seamless canvas that enhances multitasking and content creation. The displays also feature anti-reflection coatings and 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage, ensuring accuracy for creative professionals.

Productivity is further enhanced by ASUS’ upgraded ScreenXpert software, which intelligently adapts to different working modes and enables intuitive multitasking across both displays. A new MagLatch™ keyboard docking system with retractable pogo pins allows the reinforced Bluetooth® keyboard to dock securely between the screens, protecting the displays while enabling effortless transitions between work setups.

Audio has also been significantly upgraded. The Zenbook DUO now features a six-speaker Dolby Atmos® system with dual-diaphragm woofers and discreetly integrated tweeters, delivering immersive sound for both work and entertainment.

The ASUS Zenbook DUO (2026) UX8407 will be available in South Africa soon, with local pricing to be confirmed.
