For the past decade, FNB’s nav» ecosystem has evolved from a financial management tool into a comprehensive platform designed to help South Africans navigate life’s biggest financial decisions. Marking its tenth anniversary, FNB has unveiled two new offerings—nav» Youth and nav» Payroll—as customer demand shifts beyond traditional banking towards practical tools that support financial wellbeing, entrepreneurship and business growth.
Since its launch, nav» has become an integral part of millions of customers’ financial journeys. More than six million people have used nav» Money to improve their financial health, creating savings goals worth over R1.75 billion while engagement has grown more than sevenfold. The platform’s data shows that 74% of active users are now engaging more deeply with budgeting, savings and financial planning, with users demonstrating stronger financial outcomes than non-users.
The ecosystem has also expanded into other aspects of everyday life. nav» Home has supported more than R76 billion in home loans and helped over 61,000 customers find homes. nav» Car simplifies vehicle ownership, with 1.34 million vehicles registered in its virtual garage and 728,000 digital licence renewals completed, eliminating the need for long queues. Meanwhile, nav» Care has enabled customers to donate more than R10.5 million to verified charities.
According to Clair Brenner, CEO of nav», customers increasingly view financial stability as a stepping stone to broader ambitions such as buying a home, starting a business or creating additional income streams. Every interaction with the platform provides insights that help FNB develop more relevant solutions.
The newly launched nav» Youth targets younger South Africans navigating financial independence, changing careers and entrepreneurship. It combines financial education, career guidance and tools for managing life’s major milestones. During the first half of the financial year, the platform generated more than 450,000 interactions, helping 94,000 young customers build financial confidence.
FNB has also introduced nav» Payroll, an affordable payroll solution for small businesses. The platform offers five free payslips each month, automates SARS-compliant reporting and provides professional proof of income for employees. Already, 132 businesses have adopted the solution organically.
Jolandé Duvenage, CEO of Value Ecosystems & Customer Experience at FNB, says customers increasingly expect connected experiences rather than standalone banking products. As nav» enters its second decade, FNB plans to continue expanding its ecosystem with solutions that help individuals, families and businesses build stronger financial futures while celebrating the milestone with a six-month rewards campaign featuring prizes including MacBook Air laptops, Nintendo Switch 2 consoles and eBucks rewards.
