Intercede Launches MyID® MFA 5.0 for Enhanced Security

Must Read

Intercede announces the launch of MyID® MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) 5.0. This latest addition to the MyID product family enhances security by offering phishing-resistant MFA options for protecting on-premises and cloud-based applications, as well as Windows desktop logon (both online and offline).

With MyID MFA 5.0, organizations can deploy a range of MFA options, including OTP (one-time passwords), mobile apps, syncable FIDO passkeys, and biometric-protected hardware devices, to safeguard their systems. Introducing enterprise-managed FIDO passkeys into MyID MFA simplifies FIDO-enablement for multiple applications and enhances security while improving user experience.

MyID® MFA v5 to Protect On-Premises, Legacy and Cloud-Based Applications

MyID MFA serves as both a FIDO authentication server and a passkey issuance solution. End users authenticate to MyID MFA with their passkey, and with support for standard federated identity protocols, the solution provides authentication services to multiple applications, including cloud, on-premise, and Windows desktop logon.

Organizations can choose syncable passkeys for password less authentication via mobile devices and browsers, or opt for device-bound passkeys like Yubikey for heightened security.

Moreover, MyID MFA facilitates application federation, enabling the sharing of identity and authentication information between cloud-based and on-premise systems. With support for standards-based protocols such as OpenID Connect and SAML, MyID MFA acts as an IDP (Identity Provider) and supports federation with existing credentials and identity providers, including Google and Microsoft Authenticator apps.

By delivering a unified authentication experience across the entire application suite, including self-service portals and Windows desktop logon, MyID MFA ensures robust security for organizations of all sizes. Enhanced support for federation, third-party authenticators, and FIDO passkeys in the Windows Desktop Agent offers organizations a wider array of options to protect their data, networks, and applications.

Allen Storey, Chief Product Officer at Intercede, states: “It is our mission to help organizations protect themselves against data breach by deploying stronger authentication simply, securely and at scale, whether they are SMBs with hundreds of users, larger enterprises, or federal authorities with thousands of users. MyID MFA is the simplest way for any organization to protect their applications, data and networks against cyber-attack, with phishing-resistant authentication that is easy to deploy, manage and use.”

As part of the MyID product family, MyID MFA complements MyID PSM (Password Security Management) and MyID CMS (Credential Management System), offering organizations a spectrum of security options, from passwords to advanced authentication methods like FIDO passkeys and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure).
