Sony Unveals Pocket-sized Vlogging Camera

Sony has unveiled its newest vlogging camera, the ZV-1 – designed with content creators in mind. The device will be available in South African stores from 2 August 2020 at a retail recommended price of R16 999.00.

The ZV-1 features a 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS image sensor with DRAM chip and 24-70m F1.8-2.8 ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T large-aperture lens creating beautiful background bokeh (background blur). The bokeh button is located on top of the camera, making it easily accessible when taking selfies.

The ZV-1’s Product Showcase Setting allows quick and smooth focus transitions between the subject’s face and the object in front of the lens, while a new Face Priority auto-exposure (AE) function ensures the subject’s face is depicted at an ideal brightness in any environment. The camera features advanced colour science re-engineered to optimise skin tones and enhance selfies.

The ZV-1 is well equipped to produce clear, excellent audio quality, with reliable and versatile audio options. An onboard mic features Sony’s latest Directional 3-capsule Mic designed for forward-directional audio capture. The camera also features a standard mic jack (3.5mm) and Multi-Interface Shoe (MI Shoe), making it easy to connect a wide range of external microphones.
