Datatec, an international Information and Communications Technology (ICT) company, has announced that its subsidiary, Logicalis SA, has acquired Mars Technologies, an IT services business that has offices in Cape Town Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg, East London and Durban. Mars Technologies provides Managed IT services that range from the remote monitoring of networks and servers, anti-virus, managed desktop, printers and cloud backups, to full outsourcing, targeting small and mid-market enterprises.

With this new acquisition, Logicalis aims to strengthen its South African operation and expand its managed services business in call-centre, IP telephony, managed desktop, cloud, IT solutions and Networks to its international and local customers over the combined portfolio.

“With the acquisition, the Logicalis South African operation strengthens and expands its managed services offering to better serve our corporate customers and deliver new services to existing customers from both companies,” said Jens Montanana, Chief Executive Officer for Datatec.
