The African SAP User Group (AFSUG) has released high-level details around what some of its demo pod sponsors are planning during its biennial conference for SAP users, Saphila, which takes place at Sun City on 10 and 11 June 2019.
“Our demo pod area will serve as space for almost 30 sponsors to showcase their expertise and experience as well as demonstrate their bespoke SAP focused solutions,” says Reg Barry, AFSUG Co-Chair. “It is here that delegates will be invited to touch, feel and see current technologies as well as a few that will be launched at the event.”
One sponsor using Saphila to break news will be Knoa Software, a provider of user experience management (UEM) software. Knoa’s SAP UEM applications currently provide visibility into employee experiences to improve workforce productivity and ensure SAP S/4HANA migration success. It offers insight into how employees interact with SAP software, measuring impact on daily operations, and increasing adoption to realise efficiency and reduce total cost of ownership.
To be announced at its pod during Saphila 2019 will be the company’s decision to make this solution available through the SAP Partner Managed Cloud (PMC) program, which empowers solution providers to deliver bundled SAP solutions and services through a hosted platform with a single subscription fee. Visitors are invited to stop by to discuss the varied benefits and use cases with the Knoa team.
New to the list of sponsors is Solutive AG, a company that understands the importance of this event to SAP customers in Africa.
Solutive AG helps these clients reduce their total cost of ownership in the Application Lifecycle Management space, specialising in helping organisations to automate, simplify and secure their Change and Release Management process. The company achieves this with an out-of-the-box solution that is not reliant on SAP’s Solution Manager and does not require expert level resources to run.
Solutive AG will be showing customers exactly how to achieve this by demonstrating a cost-effective, less complex alternative.
As a mission-critical open source software-defined infrastructure provider for SAP, it made absolute sense for SUSE to be involved in Saphila 2019. The event will provide a platform for the company to showcase its innovation in digital transformation and intelligent networks, while showing visitors exactly how the company can assist in unlocking data intelligence while driving innovation at all points.
It is known that SAP is sun-setting support for legacy software, such as SAP ERP, BW and CRM, and customers are going to need to upgrade their database to HANA and their software to S/4HANA quite soon. With over 90 per cent SAP HANA OS market share, SUSE can help companies starting on their SAP transformation journeys providing immediate benefits and smoothing the migration to Linux. Visitors are invited to talk to the team about how they’ve succeeded in doing this.
At Saphila 2019, GlueData will be focusing on SAP data or, more specifically, data management through the use of Simple Data Management (SDM), its subscription-based, operational solution for existing and future data.
With SDM, new or changed data is controlled and validated at the point of entry ensuring consistent data quality with every record creation or change. It delivers monthly exception and statistical reports, which identify poor quality data or data that doesn’t confirm to business rules and it does all of this using the standard functionality of SAP, which means no additional license fees.
While SDM will be a focus, GlueData will also be talking about data migrations, specifically, migration to S/4HANA and visitors embarking on this journey should make a point of stopping to meet the team.
Fujitsu will be joining demo pod sponsors this year and the company promises to help delegates “develop, unleash, empower and connect to become a truly intelligent enterprise”.
Naturally, this will mean the presence of experts at the demo pod willing to discuss business challenges and pain-points providing solutions as they go, as well as the demonstration of the solutions that help Fujitsu customers shape their digital journeys.
The Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, analytics, big data design thinking, blockchain and data intelligence are not terms that would have been used in business circles a decade ago, but today they have proven their ability to turn ordinary organisations into exponential organisations.
Visitors to the Kamoeba demo pod will be invited to take a look at Leonardo, SAP’s digital innovation system that empowers digital transformation. The company will also be hosting a workshop that will give attendees a practical overview of the technologies and services available to businesses on this journey today as well as how they can be applied to real-world scenarios. And, because everyone loves winning, Kamoeba will be handing out stress balls at its pod. Each will have its own QR code, which, when scanned, will enter delegates into a competition where they stand win a gadget hamper.
Magic Software SA invites delegates to engage with them on two specific discussion points; namely cloud / on-premise and hybrid integration for all verticals – from manufacturing and healthcare, to logistics and broader. The company has SAP certified connectors for integration, and is also seeking new partners to grow integration revenue and create new opportunities.
Visit the Magic Software SA stand and schedule a demo to qualify for prizes.
Decision Inc. will showcase its expertise in data analytics and financial planning, highlighting best-practice examples, discussing how important the changing technology landscape has become within these areas specifically, and looking at the next-generation real-time planning of SAP.
As an organisation that develops, implements and supports SAP certified add-on modules for Supplier Statement Reconciliations and General Ledger Reconciliations, BEST will be available to Saphila 2019 visitors to discuss how adding the modules to your current SAP suite and allocating the new BEST transactions to your users will help to control the entire Creditor and GL reconciliation process in SAP. Find out more about how using BEST’s Vendor Reconciliation and GL Reconciliation tools in SAP will allow for the automation of expensive, tedious, labour intensive, manual processes, so that finance functions can be performed quickly, easily and in real-time.
Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) solutions company, Altron Bytes People Solutions will be holding live, on-stand demos of its in-app training solutions. The organisation recently announced its investment in a first-for-Africa training solutions initiative that will future skill Africans for Industry 4.0 in partnership with SAP. Altron will be on hand to talk about how its experience with SAP customers makes them an ideal choice to be the first partner to offer ‘content as a service’ solutions based on the SAP Enable Now platform to local customers.
AFSUG also welcomes Vodacom Business on board for Saphila 2019. The company is hosting four charging stations, with space for delegates to work and network while their mobiles are powering up. In addition, Vodacom Business will be holding a raffle for several high-end bottles of wine.
All of the companies mentioned above will be joined by a host of pod sponsors including AppConverge, Atos, Blue Pencil Consulting, Can! Do Consulting, Consnet, Cradle Technology Services, Epi-Use, EY, GK Software, Gijima, HCL, In2 IT Technologies, K5 Business, OpenText, SAP DI, Twiga Consulting, Vistex and Zebra Technologies to name but a few.
