Last night, around 9 PM local time, NASA’s InSight lander touched down on the surface of Mars to commence a two-year long research mission into the composition of the planet’s core and the effects of seismic activity. Here’s a look at some of the best tweets about the #MarsLanding.

NYT Science used augmented reality to explain how the InSight will be listening for marsquakes and studying the planet’s structure.
Now that NASA’s InSight is on Mars, what’s it going to do? See for yourself with your smartphone (this is a lot of fun on desktop, too) #MarsLanding https://t.co/uFVXYIBgUc pic.twitter.com/8FzoDMPBll

Now the InSight will recharge with its solar panels before it starts to drill down into the planet’s surface to start gathering valuable scientific data on Mars’ structure.
Aaah…soaking up the Sun with my solar panels. ? After a long flight, and thrilling #MarsLanding, it feels great to get a good stretch and recharge my batteries. (Like, literally.) It’s just what I’ll need to really start getting in tune with #Mars. https://t.co/yse3VEst3G pic.twitter.com/LpsiI0KNNz
