Shazam is the latest music feature to be integrated directly into Instagram Stories, thanks to a new partnership with the Facebook-owned app.
Instagram users can share now identified songs and post them to Instagram Stories. The integration officially went live on November 1st.
Earlier this year, Instagram integrated Spotify into Instagram Stories, and just last month (October), Soundcloud released their integration with the app as well.
In terms of functionality, this is straightforward. To start sharing newly identified songs, simply Shazam the song and then tap the share button. Instagram will appear as a sharing option. The song’s cover art and title will appear on your Instagram Story along with a link back to the song on Shazam.
The feature is now available to iOS users with the newest version of the applications. Unfortunately, Android users have to wait, and neither company specified for how long.
With Apple completely acquiring Shazam in September, the company promised the application would no longer have ads for all users, including those on Android OS.
