Google+ is shutting down
Google+ is shutting down after a data leak affected 500,000 users due to a security flaw that no one fixed. The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, 8 October, that Google detected the flaw earlier this year, but that the tech giant failed to inform users that their data may have been compromised. It did so “ because of fears that doing so would draw regulatory scrutiny and cause reputational damage.” Read more.
Airtel partners Coverage Broadband to launch 3flix mobile TV service in Nigeria
Airtel Nigeria has announced a partnership with Phase 3 Telecom subsidiary, Coverage Broadband to launch the 3flix mobile TV service in Nigeria. With this partnership, customers who subscribe to a special, bundle data plan on Airtel will now have unfettered access to 3flix live television channels. Read more.
