A new e-commerce platform that sells musical instrument and offers a technology retail experience was launched in Johannesburg, South Africa. MiTech required Bluegrass Digital to support their online retail and marketing objectives. Bluegrass Digital was selected to design and develop MiTech Direct’s new eCommerce website. The website launched in April of this year, following the opening of the new experience store.
Of the many platforms, MiTech Direct chose the EpiServer platform in a bid to ensure that it worked cooperatively with their future ambitions. Episerver puts digital content, commerce and marketing in one screen providing for features such as built-in personalisation features, machine learning abilities and marketing automation tools.
As part of the process, Bluegrass Digital conducted a detailed UX process using wireframe prototyping thus defining key user journeys, functions and content. This was followed by a detailed design stage incorporating the new corporate identity and applying responsive breakpoints. Development sprints followed, to implement front-end HTML templates with Episerver. As part of the project delivery, Bluegrass integrated EpiServer with SAP for order processing and stock control.
Further enhancements to the website have followed as their online retail strategy starts to take shape. Bluegrass Digital will continue to provide technical support for the platform.
Stage Audio Works, owns both MiTech Direct and Mars Music, a musical instrument retail group in Africa.
