In the early hours of Sunday morning, 27th of August 2017, the world rose together for the most anticipated fight in combat sports history. It was the Money Fight of course and it was MMA superstar Connor “The Notorious” McGregor vs future boxing Hall of Famer, Floyd “Money” Mayweather. The fight took place in the packed out T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas while millions of people from around the world caught the fight either online or on TV.
The fight went as many from the boxing fraternity predicted. McGregor came out hard and fast, while Mayweather, using his superior experience, went about biding his time, tiring out his opponent and then capitalising on an exhausted fighter in his debut fight to win by Technical Knock Out (TKO).
The fight, which was the final of Mayweather’s historic, saw the man nicknamed “Money” extend his professional record to 50-0, while McGregor not only earned the respect of his opponent, but that of millions of people from around the world.
