Following its success in the international market, the LG V20 smartphone is set to arrive on South African shores on November 7 2016.
With consumers looking for larger display screens, LG has addressed this with the V20 – its screen measures a 5.7-inchs. The V20 is the first and currently only smartphone to launch with Android 7.0 Nougat, making it fast, customisable and polished, thanks to Google’s improvements on its popular OS. Android fans will love the improved experience, better productivity, and enhanced performance that Android Nougat has to offer. Nougat brings exciting new features to your mobile OS, including split-screen multi-window, streamlined notifications with direct reply, and improvements to battery performance.
“The V20 collects and improves on users’ favourite features from past models, including the dual rear-facing cameras that made the LG G5 such a hit. The devices multimedia capabilities cater even to professional needs, while still being easy enough for the general public to understand, and utilise,” says Deon Prinsloo, General Manager of LG Mobile at LG Electronics South Africa.
LG promises to give consumers what they want – recognising that today’s users aren’t just consuming and sharing content anymore, they’re creating it too. With such heavy emphasis on photography, sound and video recording, the V Series packs a serious punch in order to meet the high expectations of this market segment.
Photography, video and audio are where the V20 are some featured highlights. Combined with LG’s three smartphone cameras, the V20 includes helpful features like:
- Hybrid Auto Focus (for optimal picture sharpness)
- Auto Shot (with face detection for the perfect selfie)
- Hi-Fi quality audio recording (developed with renowned European audio brand B&O PLAY)
- Steady Record 2.0 (to stabilise shaky recording)
Users will also be relieved to hear that the LG V20, with its removable battery, has undergone 60 000 validation tests to ensure the safety and reliability of this device.
The device has also passed the MIL-STD 810G Transit Drop Test for durability. These tests are carried out by an independent laboratory that tests according to US Military standards. The results showed that the device, with its full metal body could withstand shocks and still operate when dropped repeatedly from a height of four feet, landing in numerous positions, including the front, back, sides and corners.
The V20 will be available at a retail price of R 10 999.
