Pitch AgriHack 2016 is open for young ICT start-ups from African, Pacific and Caribbean countries to be part of an exciting initiative

Pitch AgriHack invites e-argriculture start-ups to be part of a new and exciting initiative. Participants will stand a chance to win an investment of a lifetime which includes a cash price and promotional support. The application process will require the start up demonstrate that they are incorporated or are already about to close this process. Registration may be directly or be nominated to enter Pitch AgriHack.

Pitch ArgriHack 2016 is giving an opportunity to young upcoming ICT entrepreneurs offering services in the agricultural field in Africa, Caribbean and Pacific countries to pitch their ideas and stand a chance to win big. The Pitch ArgriHack requirement are simple, applicants should be owner of an already existing e-agriculture/ICT platform.


The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA), in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the support of partners including the Centre for Agricultural Bioscience International (CABI) and mLab East Africa, is launching the first edition of Pitch AgriHack, a new component of its AgriHack Talent Programme.

There are two categories are available: Early stage platform and Advanced platform. Winning teams will receive a cash prize of up to €15,000, as well as promotional support, additional capacity building and networking opportunities. They may also benefit from investments from supporters of Pitch AgriHack.

What Pitch AgriHack will do:

  • provide a business training boot camp to selected e-agriculture start-ups
  • conduct a start-up pitching competition
  • facilitate access to grants, investments and additional capacity building opportunities.
