Sendr, a smart-phone based mobile application (app) courier service, revealed that it is now available on Android’s mobile operating system.
At the reveal, Sendr’s co-founder, George Sibotshiwe. stated that: “Our end goal has always been to offer all our consumers the convenience they deserve and should expect from a service provider such as ourselves. It therefore made sense for us to ensure our application is available on Android as well.”
According to the company, Android is fast becoming the mobile operating system of choice in South Africa. Recent figures from Vodacom showed that the mobile service provider had 5.41 million Android users on its network.
“Our need to continuously innovate is to ensure that we offer our customers the best service but most importantly putting the power in their hands. Historically, courier services in the country has always put the consumer in the hands of the service provider – we want to change that” added Sibotshiwe.
Sibotshiwe added the company’s commitment to growing is more than just about the financial benefits. As a proudly South African enterprise, its commitment to the country is evidenced through its efforts to create much needed employment in the country.
“We also know that we cannot be successful if our country and our people are not successful. We remain committed to innovating to address our country’s challenges and consequently creating much needed jobs,” concluded Sibotshiwe.
