Leading Independent SSA Vendor Expands Market Share, Positioned the furthest for Completeness of Vision in the Leaders Quadrant
– Pure Storage, the market’s leading independent solid-state array vendor, has retained its position in the Leaders Quadrant of the second Magic Quadrant for Solid-State Arrays (SSAs) by Gartner, Inc., a leading global research firm. Pure Storage positioned furthest along the “Completeness of Vision” axis is the only independent solid-state array vendor to be in the Leaders quadrant.
Since its founding in 2009, Pure Storage has been at the forefront of the widespread adoption of all-flash storage technology. Pure Storage’s innovative approach to hardware, software and services most recently was demonstrated in its recent launch of theFlashArray//m hardware and Pure1 management platform as well as its groundbreaking Evergreen Storage business model. In 2014, Pure experienced continued growth, including a 200 percent increase in its customer base, which stretches across more than 25 countries and includes companies such as LinkedIn, Nielsen, Skullcandy and Workday. Pure also has continued its market leadership, expanding its IP portfolio to include more than 300 patents and patent applications and reinforcing its commitment to the industry through its participation in the Open Stack Foundation.
Gartner states “vendors in the Leaders quadrant have the highest scores for their Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. A vendor in the Leaders quadrant has the market share, credibility, and marketing and sales capabilities needed to drive the acceptance of new technologies. These vendors demonstrate a clear understanding of market needs; they are innovators and thought leaders; and they have well-articulated plans that customers and prospects can use when designing their storage infrastructures and strategies. In addition, they have a presence in the five major geographical regions, consistent financial performance and broad platform support.”
“Pure Storage was founded to fundamentally transform our customer’s businesses as well as substantially reduce IT costs,” said Scott Dietzen, CEO of Pure Storage. “We believe the latest Magic Quadrant for the solid-state array category is an insightful measure of our progress, insightful because Gartner aggregates input from dozens of our customers as well as those of our competitors within their analysis. The benefits of the FlashArray can be particularly impactful for large customers. One of those customers projects saved more than $100M from increased real-time inventory analytics on Pure. Another saved more than $15M by enabling server consolidation. Both were accomplished with a small fraction of those amounts being spent on Pure Storage. With disruptive results like these, we will see more change in the next five years in the storage industry than we have seen in the last twenty.”
