During an exclusive media reveal, hosted by the Core Group in Johannesburg, Apple unveiled its latest device – the New Apple MacBook.

The company stated that, every element, from the new keyboard and Force Touch trackpad to the 12-inch Retina display, USB-C port, battery and logic board, has been completely re-imagined to make it not only thinner, but also better.
The result, according to the manufacturer, is more than just a new notebook. It’s the future of the notebook. While the new device is indeed an eye catcher, Apple revealed that the device weighs in at 0.9kg and is just 13.1mm thick.
The company also revealed that the new MacBook is designed to fit into the wireless world. Just about anything you do with a notebook can now be done over the air, the company stated, thanks to Apple software – which takes full advantage of the latest Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth wireless technology.
When looking at some of the devices technical specs, the device will come in two models. The first model will feature a 12-inch Retina display, which is accompanied by an Intel 1.1GHz processor, 8GB memory, and have 256GB of flash storage. Additionally, Apple has stated that the New MacBook features a USB-C port, which allows for charging, USB 3 data transfer and video output in a small, reversible design that’s one third the size of the current USB port.
When it comes to applications, both models are expected to ship with a collection of apps. These apps have been designed to give users the ability to surf the internet, send mail and messages, and organise their calendar. It even comes with an app for finding new apps.
