Globacom Nigeria has issued a statement that reveals that it now has over 30 million subscribers across Nigeria on its network. According to the company, it expects the number of users to continue to grow. The company cited an increase in infrastructure, lower rates and increased interest as the reasons behind its growth.
National Sales Coordinator of Globacom for North West Operations, Samuel Edoho, said: “This is thanks to the company’s consistent investment and deployment of innovative and customer-oriented services.”
Edoho said the company: “Aspires to build Africa’s biggest and best telecommunications network.”
Despite the growth, Glo still remains in the country’s number two position, with MTN Nigeria maintaining its position atop the mobile sector in Nigeria. At the last review, MTN Nigeria had 59.89 million subscribers, Airtel Nigeria had 27.56 million, Etisalat Nigeria had 21.1 million and Mtel had 258,520 customers.
