Etisalat Nigeria is boosting its data options available to customers by announcing a new 2 GB data plan for NGN 2,000. The goal of the new data plan offering is to encourage users to employ their mobile phones as a main source of Internet browsing.
Etisalat Nigeria believes that by delivering a more affordable price range for users will help continue to push the use of mobile phones for Internet browsing. With many Western countries reporting that users are employing their mobile phones for the vast majority of their Internet use, Etisalat Nigeria hopes that Nigerians will begin to do the same.
Director of the company’s Consumer Segment Oluwole Rawa said in a statement released by the company that the “data plan is a demonstration of Etisalat’s commitment to providing quality and affordable services to its customers.”
Nigeria boasts one of the highest mobile phone usage rates in Africa and as the continent’s largest country by population, offering affordable data plans should go a long way in assisting Nigerians to use their mobile phone device for Internet browsing and application downloads.
The company said that existing and potential Etisalat customers can “dial star 229 star 2 star 8 hash” in order to enroll or learn more about the offerings.
