December has finally arrived, which means Christmas is just around the corner. This week in tech has been busy once again… not only have we taken a look at the top 20 gadgets to check out this Christmas, but we were also introduced to the latest cost conscious mobile device, the mi-FAB 4.5 from mobile phone manufacturer mi-Fone.

Moving over to Kenya, Safaricom has officially launched its latest LTE Advanced Network. According to the operator, it will roll out the 4G services in Nairobi as well as Mombasa.

IT News Africa has been following the Nigerian Telecommunications Limited (Nitel) and Nigerian Mobile Telecommunications Limited (Mtel) liquidation closely for the past few months. We can report that the Nitel liquidation has been finalised.

Kenya: Safaricom launches LTE Advanced
Kenyan operator Safaricom has successfully launched its latest LTE Advanced Network in Kenya. According to the operator, it will roll out the 4G services in Nairobi as well as Mombasa. The company will then scale up coverage to other major towns during the course of 2015. Read More.
