Com Dev inks contract for high throughput satellite

The total value of the initial contract is over $7.5 million with an expansion to the contract expected in the coming weeks to include additional equipment valued over $5.5 million.

Com Dev International, a manufacturer of space hardware subsystems, has revealed that it has been awarded an Authorisation to Proceed (ATP) contract to deliver Multiplexer Equipment, Waveguide and Coaxial Switches, and Microwave Components to be used on a high throughput communications satellite designed to provide direct-to-home premium television content to the Middle East and North Africa.

The total value of the initial contract is over $7.5 million with an expansion to the contract expected in the coming weeks to include additional equipment valued over $5.5 million. Work on the contract will be carried out at the Company’s facility in Cambridge, Ontario with completion expected by August 2015.


Mike Williams, President of Com Dev International Products, stated that: “This contract award reflects both the continued growth in the market from the increased demand for broadband capacity and our expertise in Ku-band components.”
