MTN Ghana made a five thousand Ghana Cedis donation as a contribution to the Asafotufiami Festival. The theme for the festival is Education: key to the development of Ada Traditional Area.
Sales Manager for Greater Accra Region, Simon Amoh stated that, “MTN as a corporate entity is committed to supporting and promoting the rich Ghanaian heritage through festivals and as a result have in the past seven year committed its resources to supporting selected traditional festivals each year across the country.”
According to biztechafrica.com, Amoh further noted that having recognised the importance of education, and that MTN has constructed more than fifty seven major educational projects which are impacting over 150,000 Ghanaians across the country.

The annual Asafotufiami festival is one of the biggest events in the region. It celebrates ancient wars and draws a big crowd of people to Ada. The celebration is said to start on a Thursday in the first week of August and goes on until the following week.
