Vodafone Global Enterprise (VGE), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Vodafone Group, announced on Friday, that Deon Liebenberg has been appointed Vice President of VGE Africa, effective the 1st April 2014. Previous to joining Vodafone, Liebenberg served as senior executive at Telkom and Samsung Africa.
According to Vodafone, Liebenberg is no stranger to VGE as he was previously the Managing Executive for VGE at Vodacom in South Africa and CEO for the Vodacom Business Africa Group of companies across Africa.
“Deon brings over 20 years’ experience in the ICT and Telecom Industry, earned working at some of South Africa’s leading operators and multinational telecom service providers. I am certain that Deon will use his expertise and vast experience to build the VGE Africa portfolio and further accelerate our growth strategy across Africa”, says President of Asia & Africa VGE, Stevan Hoyle.
Liebenberg’s new role will involve the management of the VGE’s portfolio which serves Vodafone‘s largest multinational customers across Africa. Deon holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of the Free State as well as a Bachelor of Business Management and Administration and a Masters in Business and Administration from the University Of Stellenbosch.
