CA World 2013 Showcases technology’s impact on business

CA Southern Africa has revealed that global entrepreneur, Sir Richard Branson, and CA Technologies CEO, Mike Gregoire, will deliver the keynote addresses at CA Technologies largest user conference, CA World 2013.

The conference is scheduled to take place from April 21 – 24, in Las Vegas. The event is expected to bring together more than 5,000 CA Technologies customers and partners to showcase its latest initiatives, including how to leverage DevOps, cloud computing and mobility for better business results.


CA World 2013 will feature an impressive line-up of keynote speakers including CA Technologies new CEO, Mike Gregoire on Sunday, April 21 at 4 p.m. PDT and Executive Vice President, Peter Griffiths on Monday, April 22 at 8 a.m. PDT. They will discuss the latest IT trends and the need for actionable strategies to drive innovation and business growth.

The conference also will feature a keynote from one of the world’s foremost innovators, Sir Richard Branson on Monday, April 22 at 5 p.m. PDT. Best known as the founder of Virgin Group, Branson is an entrepreneur, author, humanitarian, adventurer and visionary – who routinely turns his out-of-this-world ideas into reality. He will discuss how technology can drive business innovation that changes the world.

CA World 2013 will explore how customers can go big with these new technologies and deliver IT that has meaningful impact for their organization.”

CA World 2013 will kick-off CA Technologies new online video speaker series called Luminaries Live! The five minute video segments, featuring industry visionaries, are designed to offer a provocative perspective on how disruptive technologies will drive innovation and dramatically change what’s possible. The live talks will be presented on Monday and Tuesday the 22nd and 23rd April, respectively.  The video segments will be available on ca.com and on YouTube.

Sir Richard Branson will be featured along with  Robert Scoble, technology evangelist, author and start-up liaison officer; Michael Hugos, author and speaker, CIO; Myrna Soto, chief information and infrastructure security officer, Comcast: Matthew Clark, senior director, Qualcomm; Ken Piddington, CIO, Global Partners; and many more.

CA Technologies has launched a social media campaign to field questions from attendees for Sir Richard Branson during his Luminaries Live! session, #AskBranson on Twitter and also on Facebook.

Additionally, CA Technologies Chief Technology Officer, John Michelsen, will host the invitation-only Smart Architect program, that is customized for CTOs, senior architects, technical advisors and executive management. The event will feature real- life customer use cases discussing successful IT strategies mapped to disruptive trends like cloud and DevOps.

Gary Lawrence, MD, CA Southern Africa, says the local operation will be hosting approximately 50 delegates from some of SA’s most innovative corporations at the forefront of IT management.
