Internet Solutions and South African video games distributor Megarom will be hosting one of the biggest video games tournaments to hit the South African shores. The tournament will aim to crown the best StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm player in South Africa, but visitors will also be able to experience international battles.
“Come and watch as South Africa’s best compete for the top place in Blizzards exciting expansion StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm. Also come and watch as Rob “PandaTank” Botha (South Africa) takes on Silviu “NightsEnd” Lazar (Romania) in an officially sanctioned MSSA event,” Megarom stated on the tournament’s website.
The tournament will take place on 16 March at The Forum on The Campus in Johannesburg, and entry is free of charge.
However, visitors wishing to see the tournament and experience the new StarCraft 2 expansion pack will have to register on the event’s website. Visitors and spectators who register on the website can win a Collector’s Edition StarCraft 2 bundle.
According to developer Blizzard, “Heart of the Swarm is the first expansion set to Blizzard Entertainment’s sci-fi real-time strategy game StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. Heart of the Swarm continues the epic story from Wings of Liberty with an all-new campaign that focuses on Kerrigan, the former Queen of Blades.”
