Bytes appoints new Xerox Division Manager for Africa

Bytes Document Solutions (BDS), the authorised Xerox distributor in 26 sub-Saharan Africa countries and a division of Bytes Technology Group,  has announced the appointment of Craig Schweitzer as the new Bytes Document Solutions (BDS) Xerox Division Manager for Africa with immediate effect. BDS is the largest Xerox distributor in the world and the biggest contributor to Bytes with revenues in excess of R1.8 billion.

Prior to his appointment at BDS, Schweitzer held the position of Director of Corporate Business Solutions in the Kyocera stable for the past six years. His business experience spans various industries including the textile and insurance industries where he served in executive positions at Marriott MariseServe, specialist Cargo Insurance Brokerage as well as Nashua. 

In his new position, Schweitzer will be responsible for the strategic direction of BDS’s African footprint, which currently includes activities in 26 countries.

“Based on his financial background and vast business experience, I am confident that Craig will play a significant role in driving growth for our company on the continent through a combination of distribution strategies specifically designed to speak to each country’s strengths,” said Managing Director of BDS, Xerox, Rabin Ram.

Commenting on his appointment, Schweitzer said he is excited about the new challenge which will also involve evaluating the company’s partnerships in the various countries to ensure value as well as the growth of distribution. “Exploring the best ways for the company to roll out print services throughout our Africa operations also offers exciting growth opportunities,” he said.

Schweitzer holds an MBA from Henley Business School in the United Kingdom and a B.Com in Marketing from Wits University.
