“With a D-pad that transforms from a plus to a disc, the Wireless Controller provides ultimate precision, accuracy, and control for both directional and sweeping movements,” Xbox wrote on their website.

The previous controller to be released with the transforming D-pad was only available as a special edition matte silver colour with a unique button design.

“The controllers will have an estimated retail price of US $54.99 (approx. R400) each and will be available mid-May. Colour availability will vary by region, so please check your local retailer for specific information or visit xbox.com/accessories for more details,” wrote Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson on his blog.
